Great British Tennis Weekend - 17th & 18th May

Free tennis is coming to your doorstep this May as part of the LTA's Great British Tennis Weekend which will offer sport for all the family.
Somerset venues include;
- Queen Camel Tennis Club
- Minehead Lawn Tennis Club
- Wellington Tennis Club
- Wiveliscombe Tennis Club
- Bridgewater Tennis Club
- Yeovil Tennis Club
- Frome Selwood Tennis Club

who are offering a range of activities such as; Cardio Tennis, family tennis, adult and junior coaching, fun competition, disability tennis and free play sessions.

These events will be on the first of four weekends over the summer and will take place on the 17th and 18th May for all ages and abilities.

Queen Camel Tennis Club will be offering adult and junior coaching and Cardio Tennis on the Saturday from 9am-8pm, with family tennis, speed gun fun and a parent and child tournament on the Sunday from 9am to 5pm.

Minehead Lawn Tennis Club is putting on adult coaching, mini-tennis and family tennis sessions on the Saturday, 10am to 5pm.

Wellington Tennis Club is hosting junior and mini-tennis, Cardio Tennis, family tennis and a wheelchair tennis demonstration on Saturday, 9:30am to 4:30pm

Wiveliscombe Tennis Club opens its doors for four hours of family tennis on the Saturday, running from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

Bridgwater Tennis Club will welcome the public for adult and junior coaching, mini-tennis and Cardio tennis on the Saturday as part of their three hour long event, starting at 1pm.

Yeovil Tennis Club is running a two hour long event from 10am on the Saturday, which will include; junior tennis, mini-tennis, disability tennis and family tennis.

Frome Selwood Tennis Club is hosting its event on the Sunday between 10am and 4pm with sessions including; mini-tennis, Cardio Tennis, free play time, a serving competition and Tennis Express.

Volunteers and coaches will be on hand to help out and there will be rackets and balls to borrow so all you need is a pair of trainers.

The Great British Tennis Weekend events have an on-line booking system that members of the public can use to book their place on various sessions and activities for their chosen days and venues.

LTA Chief Executive, Michael Downey, said: "We have venues nationwide and there really is something for everyone regardless of a person's ability. Most importantly these weekends are going to be a lot of fun that friends and families can enjoy together."
