Following the success of their Under 10 Mini Tennis Green Team last weekend, 3 Under 8 Red Teams played a 4-team Round Robin competition with one team from Stowmarket LTC at Brandeston Hall on Sunday October 2nd.
Each team consisted of 4 players, that played 4 singles and 2 doubles against all the other 3 teams. The winning team, who won all 3 fixtures were Lucas Walker, David Wills, Max Thompson and Emma Williamson, runners up were Georgie Gardens, George Jackson, Tabitha Walker and Eloise Dearling, with Jacobi Bishopp, Jamie Coates, Freya Faulkener and Holly Wills taking the bronze medals.
Coaches Trevor Wright and Kari Sherington were again very proud of all their players' efforts, particularly the several girls and boys that were tasting competition for the very first time.
Many of the matches were extremely close, in fact 5 of the 6 fixtures ending 4-2 and one 5-1.
No single player winning all their matches on the day just showed what a very close fought contest this was.
