Division 5 – Sunderland

Team: Joe Leather, Tom Batchelor, Matthew Alexander, Aydin Caglayan, Laurence Costello, Cameron Chandler, Oliver Nash, Charlie Sanzo
Day 1 v Derbyshire
Unfortunately the team had to play the strongest team in the division on the first day resulting in 8-1 loss, Aydin and Tom winning the only rubber in doubles.
Day 2 v Staffordshire
Great start to the day with Aydin and Cameron winning at 6 & 5 singles, this was followed by a few tight lost matches in singles 4-1. Avon ended up losing 6-3.
Day 3 v Northumberland
Win needed to stay in the division which was positively responded to by our singles players who won 5 out of the 6 singles, resulting in an unassailable lead and an earlier departure for our long journey home!
All team members were a pleasure to take away and bonded as a team, support was very good from non playing players. Team player award goes to 'Cameron Chandler' who competed exceptionally hard and win both his singles matches.
