From March 18th the LTA Officials Licence Scheme will be up and running. Similar to the Coach Licence scheme it will be for officials who have met the LTA’s required standards which include a commitment to continuous personal development and conduct and possession of a satisfactory DBS disclosure. The scheme will be an easy way for parents, players and clubs to identify those officials who meet these standards.
There are a wide range of benefits for those who achieve an LTA Official’s Licence.
Licensed Officials will benefit from promotion of this standard to parents, players and clubs. Licensed Officials will also have the opportunity to apply for selections for LTA staged competitions. Following the introduction of the LTA Officials Licence Scheme, as a minimum, individuals will be required to be Licensed Officials in order to officiate at Grade 5 and above approved competitions.
Officials are required to have completed and passed either an LTA Basic Referee course or Basic Line Umpire course before they can join.
The LTA Official’s Licence will cost £25 per annum and can be applied for and paid online by logging in to the members area on the LTA website from the middle of March 2013 onwards.
