Roger Draper with local teachers

Local Primary & Secondary School Teachers in the Bristol area had fun learning how to deliver tennis to school pupils yesterday at David Lloyd Bristol.

25 teachers benefited from the on court training experience and left the course better able to deliver tennis to pupils in Primary & Secondary Schools.  British Tennis makes a significant annual investment in to teacher training and the schools that took part will benefit from free equipment which includes rackets, balls, nets as well as activity cards and dvds.

Cherry Kraus, Partnership Development Manager at Ashton Park. organised the course and said that she was pleased that the teachers enjoyed the course and was confident the pupils would be enthused about playing and competing in tennis.

The course tutor, Roger Jones, commented that standards on the courses were high and teachers were enthusiastic and confident about teaching tennis to their pupils.

In addition the teachers had a surprise visit from the LTA Chief Executive, Roger Draper, who sat in on the course and spent some time chatting with the teachers about the challenges of their job.
