The Charvil Celebration Event Day for the New Tennis Courts

Friday, October 25, 2013

Charvil Community Tennis Club (CCTC) was established in July 2013 and made use of the old tennis courts in East Park Farm 2012. The tennis courts were re-located in 2013 as a result of the Charvil Piggott Primary School. CCTC held an End of Season Celebration Event on the two brand new tennis courts on Sunday 20th October 2013.

The two colours of magenta and blue have been chosen by the local tennis club to celebrate the spirit and legacy of London2012 Olympics. The club hopes to provide "Inspired Facilities" to the community and encourage another generation to get involved in tennis.

The morning of the Celebration Event Day started with heavy rain and thunder, but the sun came out in time to rescue the event. Our two coaches Ross Batten and Josh Berry organised tennis activities that were fun for all. The main event of the day was a hard fought exhibition set between the two coaches with Josh Berry coming out on top with a 6-3 victory.

Twitter comment:
“Ross and Josh smashed it in Charviltennis today You christened Charvil #Mandeville tennis courts today! U own @London2012”

Chairman of LTA Berkshire Brian Warren paid us a visit and said; "this is great, I think every facility should have practice walls in place"

CCTC is looking forward to having a number of Open Days and Taster Session during the 2014 season.

Thank you all the tennis lovers who turned up to help make this a very special tennis day in the history of Charvil Community Tennis Club.
