Woodford Park Leisure Centre – Tennis Programme Opportunity
Woodley Town Council operate Woodford Park Leisure Centre. The centre has a range of leisure facilities including a 5 badminton court Sports-hall, fitness rooms and 4 floodlit tennis courts.
Woodford Park Leisure Centre currently operates a successful junior programme that includes badminton, football, kwik cricket and more, and the coordinators are looking to expand the programme to include mini-tennis. In addition the centre has had huge success running school holiday sports camps, with tennis and mini tennis often being requested as themes by the customers. The centre is also home to a large over 50’s group keen on tennis.
The centre is looking to partner with a tennis coach/operator to develop and deliver a comprehensive mini-tennis programme based on site. The Coach/Operator would have responsibility to design, promote and deliver the tennis programme with the assistance of the centre and its coordinators.
The programme should include:
- Mini-tennis
- Junior Tennis
- Adult activities
Head Coaches should be LTA level 3 qualified and Licenced, supporting coaches should be LTA qualified and registered.
The tennis facilities are currently under-used, but the centre holds a large database of people that have accessed summer holiday activities that could be used to promote new activities. So the potential for programme development is large. The centre also has close links with the local schools which has proven useful when marketing new activities in the past.
If you would be interested in discussing the opportunity to deliver this programme please contact Ed Whitesmith on sports@woodley.gov.uk or for more information call Ed on 0118 9216969
