As many sports clubs struggle to grow their membership, attract children away from screen games and into the fun and active world of sports it is great to see membership numbers flourishing at Newport Pagnell Tennis Club. Through a lot of marketing ideas, coaching efforts, volunteer time and events and a large dose of positive thinking; last year saw numbers grow for the second year in a row. New events were organised and well attended by families keen to play and a growing coaching programme at Newport Pagnell Tennis Club is going from strength to strength. The club is not stopping there though!
NPTC is a great example of growing new shoots from grass roots through developing a strong coaching programme and offering a wide range of benefits and events for members including regular junior and adult clubnights at no extra cost. At the club all levels and ages are catered for and Newport Pagnell Tennis Club have always taken pride in truly offering tennis for all. The junior clubnights and Adult Sunday club mornings with bright winter sun, hot butties and a bit of tennis, combining the social side, is a welcome sight for any club as well as seeing young and old looking to improve their tennis skills through coaching.
We’ve seen junior members develop from beginners to enjoying success at tournaments, adult teams thriving through all divisions (1-6) in the Milton Keynes and Bucks Shield league to a very exciting time with our Mixed A team currently topping (at time of going to press!) the entire Mixed Milton Keynes Winter League and a second team about to join them in Division 1 for the summer. A great sign that grass roots clubs can really offer tennis for all! The club, like many across GB, are also inviting special interest groups, such as specific age groups and needs, to cater for even more people who want to enjoy tennis, a social side and some fresh air, now offering Cardio Tennis too. If you would like any sessions run for your group then get in touch!
