The Aegon Clay Court Championships is dubbed the ‘Spring Nationals’ as it is the only other junior Grade 1 competition in the summer season for the 14&U and 12&U age groups.

Stamford Tennis Club hosted their first Grade 4 tournament 8th April to 12th April. Six events ran during the week – 8U, 9U, 10U, 12U Boys, 14U Boys and 18U Boys.

A number of Grantham brave souls are again doing a Charity bike ride - for Tennis First - at the end of May with the aim of getting to Paris in time for the French Open.

Tennis First is a registered charity that provides grants for some of the UK’s most talented young players, to help them reach their goal of playing on the professional tour and our target of a world ranking of 250 or better.

The 2012 winter Leaderboards have been finalised and the 2013 summer leaderboards are now live on the LTA website.  Leaderboards allow players who are competing on the Winter Tours to track their progress, just as the top players do on the ATP/WTA Tours.  There are multiple Leaderboards now in operation across the three tour levels – Winter National, Regional and County Tours.

Tennis Buddies 16&U girls Aegon Tennis Team played Stourbridge at home on Sunday, 21th April.

Spaces available on a three day UKCC Level 1 tennis coaching assistant course starting 1 June 2013 at Boston Tennis Club, Lincolnshire. 

Tennis Buddies 16&U girls tennis team travelled to The Shrewsbury Club, Shropshire on April 28th in the Aegon Premier League.

Congratulations to Katy, Jessica, Lydia and Lizzie who put in powerful performances resulting in a 12-0 win! 

Individual Results

Andrew Isaac and Megan Jones of Grantham Tennis Club were nominated to attend a Midlands Young Volunteers' Forum run at Warwickshire Tennis Centre on 21st of April 2013.

Many of you may remember Catherine who supported Lincolnshire Tennis over a number of years.

She's recently been appointed as the new GB National Deaf Tennis Coach.
