Tattershalls' Jade Windley and partner Sam Murray came up against a much higher ranked doubles pair  in the first round of the Wimbledon Ladies Doubles Championships.

Lincolnshire's Jade Windley won her first match in slam qualifying to move within two victories of a place in the Wimbledon main draw.

AEGON Team Tennis Red Eastgate TC team consisting of Luke Allsebrook, George Burkitt, Hugo Hun and Dominic Parker was victorious in the play off against Grantham TC's Red team consisting of Matthew Berry, Jacob Cullen, Luke Cullen and Eve Kimberley.

Lincolnshire's Jade Windley heard last night that she's been given a Wild Card to play in the Ladies Doubles with Sam Murray at the GB Wimbledon Championships 2013.

A nationwide recruitment drive will be underway from 10th June, to create a Youth Group for British tennis, which will play a key role in getting more people playing the sport. 

The group will be made up of people aged between 16 – 25 years old, and will work with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and the Tennis Foundation on the development of new offers and campaigns aimed at young people.

Grantham Tennis Club's development plans began to take place when digging commenced on the site, Friday 7 June.

TV presenter and Patron of Grantham Tennis Club, Andrew Castle, dug the first sod of earth for GTC's new development, due for completion in March 2014.

By way of a ‘Thank you’ for the support and their commitment to tennis many Lincolnshire volunteers give to Lincolnshire LTA a number of volunteers were given the opportunity to attend the AEGON CLASSIC at Edgbaston Priory Club, Birmingham on Monday 10 June 2013 and enjoy a celebration lunch .

The Grantham Meres Leisure Centre has been the venue for the Lincolnshire South West School Sports Partnership Primary Schools Year 3/4 tennis competition over the past 4 weeks.

Eastgate Tennis Club is having an Open afternoon on Saturday 8 June, 1.30 - 4pm.

Lincolnshire's Otto Jawahir reached the semi finals of the II SEB Tallink Junior Open, a Tennis Europe event in Estonia.

Lincolnshire's Matthew Gedney, Jacob Ainsworth, William Barker, Oliver Brine and Harvey Booth played in Group A of the AEGON 10U County Cup on a sunny weekend at Lincoln Eastgate Tennis Club.

Lincolnshire Girls 10 & Under came up against very strong opposition from  other counties in their group, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire and came 5th in Group A. 

Team Manager Sam Bass was assisted by Sarah Royal.
