The future of Suffolk tennis looks to be in good hands, both our 10.U Girls' and Boys' team putting up great performances in the recent 10U leg of the 12 Counties 2011/2012 Championship at Corby recently. The Girls finished 2nd behind rivals Norfolk, but our Boys really excelled themselves by lifting the title convincingly following victories over Norfolk, Leicestershire and Bedordshire.
The Boys' squad of Noah Cutting, Jake Davey, Will Garland and Henry Wilson were all in outstanding form, dropping just one rubber and clearly the best team on the day. Harriet Petley was unbeaten for the Girls, with Sofia Khalyaeva, India Ball and Lottie Summers all fighting hard and doing well to finish as runners-up.
This most encouraging 10U performance follows an equally promising display by our 12Us a fortnight ago, and our youngsters have put Suffolk in a very strong overall position in this prestigious regional competition. The county proudly lead the competition by three points after the initial two rounds, and it's now up to our 14Us, 16Us and 18Us to keep up the good work when they have their turn in the New Year.
