Mark and Jared Bones were runners-up in the recent final of the National Fathers' and Sons' Family Championships held at the David Lloyd Club, Dudley. They started with an excellent win in the semi-finals, beating last year's winners and top seeds Nigel and William Richards from St Austell in three sets 4-6 6-2 6-4. In the final they lost to Simon and Oliver Cull from Sutton Coldfield 3-6 6-7, and Mark and Jared hope to go one better next year.
This weekend sees the continuation of the 12 Counties Championship at Corby, and Saturday will see our 10 and Unders in action . The Boys will be represented by Noah Cutting, Jake Davey, William Garland and Henry Wilson, with Edward Johns non-travelling reserve, and the Girls have a squad of Sofia Khalyaeva, Harriet Petley, India Ball, Lottie Summers and Susie Reed. Suffolk will be hoping for the same effort and determination displayed recently by our 12Us, with the 14s, 16s and 18s ready to take their turn in the New Year.
