Suffolk tennis can be justifiably proud of both their Boys and Girls 12U teams, who did the county proud in the recent 12 Counties Championship (Division 2B) at Corby. Playing with real determination and promise both sides finished 2nd in their groups, with Suffolk now well placed to do well in the overall competition, with the 10Us competing the weekend before Christmas, and the 14s, 16s and 18s taking their turn in the New Year.
Our Girls team of Florence Kenworthy, Georgia Davies, Georgia Harris and Florence McCausland drew with both Leicestershire and Bedfordshire 2-2, and had a good 3-1 victory over rivals Norfolk. Georgia Davies and Florence McCausland did especially well, with three wins out of three.
Edward Pomery was also unbeaten for Suffolk Boys, who had a 3-1 win over Bedfordshire, drew 2-2 with Leicestershire, but went down to Norfolk 1-3. Let's hope all our other teams will also perform really well, and that we see Suffolk tennis high up that final table !!
