New Courts for Clevedon LTC

Thursday, February 23, 2012

Tennis in Clevedon has been given a welcome boost after four courts were resurfaced thanks to support from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

The facilities at Clevedon Lawn Tennis Club were re-opened on New Year’s Day after undergoing a facelift which centred around the resurfacing of the synthetic courts.

The work was made possible thanks to funding from the LTA, which contributed a £21,500 loan towards the total cost of £51,530 with the club contributing the remainder.

The club has already invested in floodlighting and clubhouse improvements over the last eight years and this latest development is set to benefit the club’s near 300 members as well as the local community.

Richard Tempany, chairman of Clevedon Lawn Tennis Club, said: “The four newly-laid courts will provide a top class, all-weather surface for Clevedon tennis players for many years to come and our thanks go to the club members and the LTA for helping to fund these improvements.”
