Team: Tom Batchelor, Joe Leather, Joe Partridge, Henry Chater
Captain: Paul Maggs
Over the course of the weekend, the boys were able to play against, and learn from, some of the top British ranked players in their age group. This was a great opportunity for all of them to study their peers; to understand how they compare to, and perform against, players at the top of the game during matches.
Although as a team the boys could have been more successful, individually there were some very good performances. Joe Partridge was the stand out player over the weekend, winning all four of his singles matches; Joe showed a consistent level of concentration to play his own game, regardless of his opponents’ ranking. Over the weekend, the boys also benefitted from having the flexibility to make independent decisions; developing their understanding of what they need to improve both on and off court, in order to progress their games to the next level.
Thanks to all the players for making it an enjoyable indoor (!) weekend.
