On a week that presented the worst weather we have had to deal with in the last 9 years, it was a credit to everyone, competitors, parents and organisers that all the matches were completed successfully and mainly with good humour.
It was a tournament without any code violations with all the finals played with a great combination of competitiveness and fairness.
We would like to thank Tom Spinks and James Pugh for offering David Lloyd, Westbury as a venue for the red ball event, which allowed the under 8’s the possibility of playing without a life guard present!
Also, the two competitors in the under 16 boy’s main draw final (one of whom was from Cumbria). This was the last match in the junior competition and it allowed us as referees and organiser the opportunity of watching a complete match. It was a great pleasure to sit in the sun and enjoy Tennis, which was played to a high standard and with exemplary fairness.
Thank you again, to all players and competitors for their understanding and tolerance during the week.
