Scott "Scholesy" Clayton became the latest Teambath MCTA player to register on the ATP rankings. He won his Main Draw match at the Aegon Newcastle $10k Futures against Nick Jones 67(1) 64 64.
Scott, 18, from Jersey, has been at the Academy based at Bath for 18 months, and is Coached by Jimmy Edgar. He has had an extremely successful year time by climbing to the top 100 of the Junior ITF rankings, winning 3 ITF singles titles. He was awarded a wild card into the Main Draw at Newcastle on following his victory in the ITF Grade 4 event at Nottingham last month.
Clayton becomes the latest junior to gain a senior world ranking since the inception of the partnership between MCTA and Teambath. Scott looks forward to the forthcoming grass court season where he is hoping to make an impact at Junior Wimbledon.
