2011 Avon LTA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Avon LTA will be held on Wednesday 30th November 2011 in the Pavilion at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex commencing 7.30pm.
Representatives from Registered P2P, Associate Organisations and Affiliated Schools are entitled to attend, however, please refer to the Handbook for voting entitlements. In addition Honorary Life Members, Life Members, Associate Members and Paid-up Members of Clubs and Associate Organisations are welcome, although no voting rights are conferred.
Following the LTA’s change on the 1st October 2011 from an Unincorporated Association to a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG), it has been necessary for County Associations (and indeed Places to Play) to amend their Constitutions to reflect the LTA’s new status. The Executive Committee decided that a review of our own Constitution was, in any event, long overdue and therefore we have taken this opportunity to update the wording to bring it into line with the LTA’s recommended version for Counties, with one or two exceptions.
A copy of our revised Constitution together with some supplementary notes clarifying a number of the changes we have made has been sent by email and post. We shall be seeking approval from our members at the AGM that the new Constitution can be adopted and we will be pleased to address any questions you may have at that time.
The change in the method of calculating a Place to Plays annual Affiliation fee (now known as registration Fee) was agreed at last year’s AGM and set at the LTA’s recommended amount of £100 per court. The County decided they would not seek to impose any additional “top-up” to this charge at that time.
For the coming year The LTA’s charge of £100 per court has remained unchanged and after consideration the County has again decided not to impose any additional amount. We shall seek our member’s formal acceptance of this fee at the AGM.
A Buffet will be available immediately after the AGM has been closed and to ensure adequate seating and catering arrangements are provided it would be helpful to know the numbers who will be attending. It would be appreciated if you could notify Debbie Curtis in the County Office accordingly if you are intending to be present.
