14&U County Cup 2012 Girls at Woodford Wells Essex
Team: Lauren King-Sparke, Molly Hawker, Sophie Lane, Natasha Commins, Laura Hope and Olivia Ray.
Saturday v Middlesex
Laura and Sophie started the weekend off at 4 and 3 and battled hard but both lost their singles matches. Molly had a closer second set although lost and Lauren lost her singles against a hard hitting opponent. So bucks were 0-4 rubbers down at lunch. The rain started and play was moved to Astro. Laura/ Natasha teamed up in doubles and after some good communication and team work lost. Lauren/ Molly Teamed up unfortunately in the end lost their doubles. 0-6 lost to Middlesex.
Sunday v Kent
Another rainy day and another tough day against a hard hitting team from Kent. Singles team was Natasha, Laura, Molly and Lauren - Bucks Battled hard but lost all singles rubbers. Molly/ Laura – Lauren/ Natasha teamed up but unfortunately lost both doubles. 0-6 lost to Kent.
Monday v Oxfordshire
Rain again so all day on the Astro. The Bucks team went out with heads held high. Laura at 4 stepped up with an Everyball focus to win her singles. Sophie fought a close match but lost in the end. Molly battled hard to lost in the end. A convincing victory by Lauren at 1 meant it was an exciting 2-2 in rubbers after the singles round. Despite battling bravely Bucks lost both doubles. 2-4 lost to Oxfordshire.
Middlesex beat Kent to Win the group - so qualified for the 2nd stage against other regions winners in a few weeks. Although it was a disappointing defeat The Bucks Girls put in some positive battles and fought hard for Everyball. Well done to All.
