Wednesday 23rd May hosted the first ever ‘Milton Keynes AllPlay Tennis Experience’ at Middleton Hall at Centre MK. The event was an opportunity for clubs and tennis venues across the city to promote the game of tennis and the activity they deliver on a year round basis. The interactive element was offered by the coaches from the various places to play around the city, this allowed shoppers to put down their purchases and hit a few balls, Something that went down really well.
Bucks LTA must thank Stony Stratford Tennis Club, Milton Keynes Tennis Club, Newport Pagnell Tennis Club, Wolverton Tennis Club, David Lloyd Milton Keynes and Milton Keynes Community Tennis for supporting the event and doing such a great job of promoting the game.
A number of members of the public joined in with the event as well as some staff from Centre MK. Some of the highlights were the young man that sad he had seen about the event in the paper so had taken a day off work to come along and hit a few balls – he went away having signed up to allplay so he can find a regular tennis venue; as well as the battle of the floor managers, two of the floor managers from Centre MK played a gruelling game of first to 7 on a min red court on their lunch break. We were sure a large audience had gathered in the CCTV room.
The event was an opportunity to tell people about www.allplaytennis.com a tool which allows people to search for their nearest tennis venue and also find people to play against in their local area.
A prize draw was run on the day, with the opportunity to win two Babolat Rackets and a tub of balls so the lucky winner can go out and have a game with a friend. This was won by Simon Harmsworth from Milton Keynes.
Fun for all at the allplay tennis experience in Centre MK
