Cambridgeshire's Robin Goodman retained his under 18 boys singles title at the Scottish Junior Open in Edinburgh last week. He added the doubles title with Matt Nicholson-Lewis.
Several players from Hills Road HPC in Cambridge travelled to Scotland with some good performances. One of only a handful of grade 2 tournaments in the country, the Scottish Junior Open is a tough competition with some fierce opposition!
Robin Goodman won the under 18 boys singles last year when a year young and repeated his success last week without dropping a set. He and Matt Nicholson-Lewis also lifted the doubles crown after beating un-seeded Sam Fleck and Matt Frost, both training pals at Hills Road.
Josh Wilson put in a good performance losing in the semis of the under 12 boys but winning the doubles with Johnnie Carmichael-Plester from Norfolk.
Will Huyton reached the quarter finals of the under 14 boys before losing to the top seed.
In the under 16 boys singles, Matt Kirby from Suffolk was an un-seeded runner up, whilst Sophie Watts was runner up in the girls 16 and under singles and doubles with sister Anneka.
Several players are staying in Scotland this week for a Tennis Europe and ITF Junior international tournaments.
