19% of the UK population are disabled or suffer from a long term limiting illness, so it is essential that coaches and the tennis workforce are given the skills and information necessary to communicate and engage with these individuals. As part of the LTA and Tennis Foundation’s ongoing commitment to this area, there are a number of development opportunities available to coaches to provide them with the skill-set to deliver to disabled people and those with a long term limiting illness.

Cambs Seniors/Vets have been doing great things again! There was a good Cambridge Seniors contingent who entered the British Open Seniors Indoor Championships at Dudley in January, 2013, and represented Cambs very well, namely David Mills, Bob Harrower, Scott Martin, Alan Leeder, Jenny Chin and Alison Hands.

Tired, worn out, old facilities make it harder for people to start or keep doing sport. They can also be more expensive to run and difficult to maintain.

The Inspired Facilities fund could help you refurbish or upgrade your sports facility; or convert an existing building into a venue suitable for sport and accessible to the whole community.

LIVING SPORT wishes to create and embed a two part offer for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough based sports clubs within our Club Development work for 2013-14. The first element will be around what we will offer to all clubs, despite their size, location, sport and plans. The focus of this element of the offer is on ‘training & education’ as well as our ‘additional provision offer’ through LIVING SPORT’s programmes such as Sportivate and Club Satellites.

Both the boys and girls in the U14’s 12 Counties event at Corby finished 2nd place to carry Cambridgeshire’s push for promotion back to division 1.
