Wimbledon Tickets 2011 – Corporate Sponsorship
As part of our efforts to raise funds to support grass roots tennis in the County, Cambs LTA is offering corporate sponsors the chance to purchase Wimbledon tickets for the 2011 Championships taking place between 20 June and 3 July. This is a wonderful chance to thank important customers or to reward loyal employees or suppliers. Tickets for Centre Court and Number 1 Court will be available for most days of the Championships. A full schedule of available tickets will be issued in the New Year but companies considering sponsorship can pre-register their interest by emailing Nick Tait, Chair of Cambridgeshire LTA Sponsorship and Marketing Committee, nick.tait1@ntlworld.com
Funding through Tennis4Cambridgeshire
Could your club or organisation do great things for tennis in the county with a bit of extra funding? If so, Tennis4Cambridgeshire wants to hear from you. Tennis4Cambridgeshire (T4C) has been set up as a not-for–profit organisation to support tennis development in Cambridgeshire. We also aim to minimise the bureaucracy and form filling required to source grants by undertaking the bulk of this ourselves. We are currently financially supporting projects in nine tennis clubs and organisations in the county with projects ranging from £500 -£2,500. The projects include coaching and outreach at Orchard Park linking up with local schools in Orchard Park, Kings Hedges and Arbury areas of Cambridge and a coaching programme at Littleport - Leisure Centre aimed at excluded youths, mums & toddlers. We really want to hear from more clubs who are committed to developing or promoting tennis in their locality. To find out more click here
British Tennis Membership – Get Involved
Joining British Tennis provide players with a broad range of benefits. British Tennis Membership (BTM) is free for anyone who is a member of an LTA registered place to play and the numbers of members in Cambridgeshire directly effects the funding that our clubs receive. Key benefits include entry into the BTM Wimbledon Ballot for the chance to purchase Wimbledon tickets, an AEGON British Tennis Rating, enabling you to compete in official competitions and discounts, ballots and pre-sales on tickets for international events held in the UK including Queen’s and the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 Arena. Cambs LTA – structure
In the autumn of 2008, Cambs LTA restructured itself to better focus on the key areas of developing and supporting tennis in the county. The new structure has been very successful in some key areas, and there is more work to do in others, but we are always looking for willing volunteers who can really make an impact. In particular the grass roots committee is very under-resourced and we feel that this is a key area for development in Cambs tennis, where so many of our clubs are small, rural and often struggle with membership numbers and retaining a good coaching programme. So if you can help, please get in touch!!! To understand more about the different sub-committees please click here

Robin Goodman, Matt Nicholson-Lewis and Amanda Black who all, until recently, trained at Hills Road High Performance Centre will be based at different universities, with Robin at Drake University in Iowa, Matt going to Saint Leo University, just outside Tampa, Florida and Amanda benefiting from subsidised tennis during her time at Harvard. The standard of university tennis is very high in the States and all expect their game to improve.
