The Cambridge Men's Vets Over 35s have been doing very well this summer, at Eastbourne and nationally too.
At Eastbourne the Mens over 35s played really well and stayed up in Division 1 - resulting in an excellent victory of second place. They were level with Leicester but lost on countback by one set. The team was David Mills (captain), Pieter van Houten, Scott Martin, Richard Ground, Adrian Blackman and Alan Leeder. Tisha Hug says "This is a brilliant acheivement".
On the vets tour there have been some good results too- Scott Martin won the mens singles over 45s at the South of England at Eastbourne and won the doubles with Alan Leeder. David Mills won the over 35s doubles. He also got to the All England mens over 40s singles final earlier in the year. If you look at the LTA rankings for age categories some of the guys finished the year quite high. Tisha Hug says "This is a brilliant achievement".
The mens over 40s won the Corby league again this year - the team was David Mills (captain), Scott Martin, Alan Leeder, Hugh Tomlinson, Pieter van Houten, Alan Jordan.
All in all, there have been some excellent victories for the teams this year; welldone to everybody who played.
