Congratulations to James Davis representing Appeti Tennis Centre, Canterbury and Nell Miller representing Bromley Tennis Academy who won Kent’s County ‘Road to Wimbledon’ Final 2013.
Their prize is a place in the National ‘Road to Wimbledon’ Finals, which this year will be played on the grass courts at The All England Club, Wimbledon 12 – 17 August.
James beat Matthew Summers representing Bromley Tennis Academy 4-1 4-2 and Nell beat Josephine Hogh representing Sevenoaks LTC 5-3, 4-2.
This prestigious three-tiered national event started in 2002 and has been a great success at all three of its levels. The first tier is played in clubs who organise a tournament for boys and girls in the 14U age group. This year in Kent, 23 clubs and 3 schools ran events. The winners and some runners-up were then invited to play in the second tier event in the County Finals, which were held indoors at Bromley Tennis Centre, over the weekend of 6th & 7th July.
Well done to all competitors who played over the weekend.
All players in the County final received a back-pack and bandana provided by the event sponsors HSBC.
