Are you between 14 and 25 and would like to learn to play tennis?  Clevedon Lawn Tennis Club are running their first Tennis Academy as part of Sport England's Sportivate initiative.  Sportivate is a nationwide campaign and a direct legacy from the London 2012 Games, supported by £32 million of Lottery funding the aim of the programme is to  provide opportunities for teenagers and young adults (14 to 25) to receive coaching in a sport of their choice.

The Clevedon Tennis Academy, which is supported by the West of England Sport Trust (Wesport), offers 6 weeks of professional tennis coaching for just £12 and will begin on Thursday 2nd May, 7:30 to 8:30pm at the Club's ground in Princes Road, Clevedon.  Participants will receive instruction in tennis technique, game rules and tactics as well as having the chance to try cardio tennis, compete in a mini tournament with prizes and enjoy an end of course quiz and pizza night.  There will be 2 completely free 'taster sessions' on Thursday 18th and 26th April at 7:30pm – players can come along and give it a try and if they enjoy the session can sign up for the course.  Tennis rackets will be available to borrow from the Club and players will need to wear sports clothing and trainers or tennis shoes.  For more information and to register for one of the taster sessions please visit the Club's website or email the Club.
