Congratulations to Downend & Fishponds TC who secured Tennis Clubmark this month. The club is the 21st club in the County to gain this prestigious accreditation. Downend & Fishponds TC continues to go from strenght to strength despite only having 2 courts. The club boasts membership of 126 and has a thriving junior programme headed up by Coaches, Peter Caseley and Andy Hutton. Over 75% of their juniors play competitions on a regular basis and the club have supported talent such as Maria Budin, one of the GB's top 12 & under players.
The club was presented with their plaque at the Avon LTA league presentation evening by County Secretary, Clive Sampson.
Julie Jones, Avon Tennis Development Manager, said "Downend & Fishponds TC have worked hard to ensure that they meet the Sport England standards in all areas of club management, operation, programmes and policies. Avon LTA look forward to working with them over the coming years to ensure they continue to develop".
