Report on Ramsey Tennis Club Open Day
The season has finally arrived, spring has sprung, clocks have gone forward and I do believe the sun is going to make an appearance.......soon.
Wow what a start to the season we had, our inaugural Open Day was a resounding success and a big heap of thanks to all our members that braved the baltic wind chills to assist and get involved in the day.
At one time we had 24 children taking part in the excellent coaching provided by Alex & James from Over and In. We had children as young as 4 smashing forehands on our hallowed astro turf, it was an amazing turn out and one which clearly shows there is an appetite for tennis in Ramsey.
We also had a number of adults attend the day who all expressed an interest in joining our club and a number had a game or tried there hand at taking on the ball machine.
For members that are not aware, we do own a ball machine and I must say it is an excellent way to practise your shots....believe me even Malc 'Rafa' Day started hitting a few of the strings of his racquet rather than the frame after spending a few minutes with the ball machine.
2013 is going to be a great year for our tennis club and with your help we can really take the club forward and become part of our local community. It really is quite simple......more members equals better facilities.
Thank you once again for your efforts and can't wait to see you all smashing, volleying and double faulting down at the club soon.
