Tom, Charlie, Josh and John taking the wins all in straight sets (Charlie’s opponent pulling out midway through set 2). Ben lost out in another gruelling match in a 3rd set tiebreak, and on debut in his first U18 county cup, 14 year old Alex Wardley, playing at 4, showed great fighting spirit in going down in 3 sets to his older, stronger opponent. Nottinghamshire pulled out of their 2nd pair doubles giving a walkover to Ben and John, Alex and Josh put on a very professional and clinical performance to win in straight sets, and Tom and Charlie came through in a 3rd set Championship tie break to win. A very tough and tight affair with an in form Lincs team saw the Cambs team down 2-4 after the singles. John, Josh and Tom dug deep but lost out to players who were too good on the day. Ryan Storrie came in for the Sunday match at number 3 and after another epic Cambs match, just lost out in yet another 3rd set tie break.
