Kent are top seeds in the Aegon 14U County Cup Finals

The Aegon 14U County Cup finals will be taking place at Nottingham Tennis Centre between Friday 17 and Sunday 19 May.

The 14U County Cup event is now run on the same format as the 10U & 12U County Cup events with it being held in 2 stages – the first stage being the qualifying event and the second stage the Finals.

For the qualifying event, the 44 counties were placed in 6 groups of 6 counties and 2 groups of 4 counties per gender. These groups were in no particular order and they competed over the weekend of Saturday 4 to Monday 6 May to find a winning team from each group.

The winning teams from each venue then progressed to the finals where the 8 teams per gender will compete to be County Champions.

The match format for the finals will be to play 2 round-robin boxes of 4 teams over the first two days followed by the winners, runners-up, 3rd and 4th placed teams playing each other on day 3.

There will be 2 seeds per group per gender and the seeding will be based on the ratings of the nominated players on Monday 13 May.

Kent boys are top seeds in their respective draw, while Surrey girls are seeded 1 in their draw.  Joining Kent are; West of Scotland, Norfolk, Warwickshire, Yorkshire, Middlesex, Sussex and Surrey and in the girls draw; Cheshire, Staffordshire, Hampshire & IOW, Sussex, Middlesex, Surrey and Avon.

Good luck to the Kent boys!!!
