Kings Tennis Club in Bishopston served up an ace family open day a couple of weeks ago that saw members, their families and friends brave the glum weather for a barbecue, bouncy castle and knock about on the courts. Also on the courts was giant size outdoor games including Jenga and Connect Four, while a child-size net especially erected for the event gave toddlers a gentle introduction to the sport. If there was a future world champion among them it wouldn’t be the first time for Kings Tennis Club, which counted former world top ten tennis player Jo Durie as a member during her formative years. Kings Tennis Club members play both friendly and competitive games, and are in the Avon league. Members have toured the world, including stop-offs at Portugal, Spain, Italy and Kenya. The club is currently looking for weather’s heating up, be sure to get in contact!
