MORE SUCCESS FOR CAMBS COUNTY SENIORS' TENNIS PLAYERS

Friday, April 17, 2015

Further to recent news that Alison Cooke (50s Cambs Ladies County Tennis Team) has been selected to play for the England Ladies 50s team in the Four Nations Championships (2-4 May at Bolton), congratulations must go David Mills, Cambs County 35s Men's Captain who plays for our 45s Men's county team, as he has also been selected to play for the 45s English team in the Four Nations Championships.

Hamid Hejazi has been selected to play for the 35s English team (a Herts county player, but as he lives in Cambridge we will claim it). He is Director of "Over and In" Great Shelford, and has coached top national juniors, top 20 ITF World national juniors and ATP & WTA ranked seniors, some of whom have gone on to compete at Wimbledon.

Further congratulations go to Pieter van Houten (plays for our 35s and 45s men's county teams and lives in Cambridge), who was selected to play for the 45s team of the Netherlands at the Young Seniors World Championship in Turkey in March (pictured above). He won a bronze medal in the team event and, impressively, a gold medal in the individual men's 45s doubles (with Australian Chris O'Mara).
