Richard Tempany, Chairman of CLTC said: “I always look forward to this event, it gets bigger and better each year and provides the Club with an opportunity to show the local community what superb facilities we have here.  Anyone who is interested in playing some tennis in Clevedon can come down and take part,  Everyone is welcome regardless of their age or playing standard.  This is a great family day out and we hope people will come along and enjoy it so much they'll want to join.”

CLTC's Open Day is one of many Community Games events taking place all over the country this year.  Begun in 2012 and inspired by the 2012 Olympics, the idea behind the initiative is to bring communities together through local sporting and cultural events which echo and engender the ethos of the 2012 Games.  CLTC is extremely grateful for the support they have received from the Community Games and the Quartet Community Foundation.

In the event of bad weather the Open Day will be held on the following Sunday - 8th July.

Clevedon Lawn Tennis Club, was founded in 1880 and is believed to be one of the oldest tennis clubs in the world and now boasts 4 floodlit newly refurbished artificial grass courts, car parking and a fully equipped clubhouse.  The club has both men’s and ladies teams playing competitively in the Avon and North Somerset leagues and hosts various in house and open tournaments for adults and juniors throughout the season along with a wide range of social events.  In 2010 the Club received Clubmark accreditation – one of the first clubs in the South West to have achieved this.
