Tennis @ Sir Bernard Lovell
Working in partnership with Avon LTA, staff from Sir Bernard Lovell Tennis Centre and local coaches organised and delivered an open day on Saturday 7th June. The day was to showcase the brilliant facility, great new coaching programme, membership and Pay & Play offer and a chance to get people from the community on court and having fun.
In the weeks running up Ben Lee and Lewis Fishlock had been visiting local schools to meet the children and get the excited about the sport which included some fantastic tennis themed assemblies. On the day the coaches had organised some coaching, matchplay, adult tennis on mini courts and were on hand to offer advice and information on upcoming activity.
There were over 100 people throughout the day getting to know the coaches, have a go at the modified and adapted versions of the sport including Cardio Tennis, Short Tennis and Mini Tennis for the U10’s. Well done to all of those who went away with tennis prizes!
