Ladies Winter League Tennis
Magdala ladies are struggling to make an impact in the first division this season, and are still looking for their first win, having lost at David Lloyd Nottingham, who have won two matches this season so far. Rebecca Woods and Nina Bailey were the top couple with 28 games. Ilkeston moved into second place behind West Bridgford, following a convincing away win at Mansfield. The match was dominated by Sarah Usher and Sarah Wright the County Captain, with an impressive 31 games.
Nottingham Castle move into second place in division 4, following a close fought home win against neighbours The Park, despite the top couple of Jean Blake and Lynn King coming from the losing team with an impressive 30 games. The top couple from the home team were Cath Greenwood and Clare Murden with 21 games.
Bingham got their first win of the season in division 6A, to move off the bottom, with an away win against Farnsfield ‘B’. The top couple were Susie Baker and Suzie Bertam with 25 games, with Gerry Twigger and Marilyn Coulby winning 22 games. Caunton ‘B’ top the division following a win against their own ‘C’ team, where Liz Banks and Rosie Hunt were the top couple with 25 games.
Mapperley Park are top of division 7 following an emphatic away win against Farnsfield ‘C’. Anita Jones and Jane Scales won 30 games, and Cynthia Lindo and Diane Fieldhouse won 28 games. Attenborough ‘B’ moved into second place, following a comfortable home win against Magdala ‘C’, where Vic Voce and Jane Bowden were the top couple with 29 games.
