The Nottingham Performance Academy coaches took over a complete hall to host a Mini Tennis Red Ball extravaganza at Nottingham Tennis Centre to round off a great year of tennis for all the players and parents who are part of the Performance setup. Although Red Ball tennis is normally for players aged 8 and under, it did not stop 98 participants putting on their fancy dress outfits to compete in the huge event.
With the Christmas songs being blasted out as the participants played singles and doubles on the Mini Red court players of all ages and titles to their names including Freya Christie, 16 & U National runner up all the way down to the youngest participant Mia Wainwright aged only 6.
At the end of the event all junior participants received a selection box from the coaching team as well as some other superb prizes that were donated my Dunlop/Slazenger.
Overall the event was a huge success with everybody getting into the festive spirit. A well-earned rest was next in store for all the players and coaches before the programme starts up again at the start of January.
Bring on 2013.
