Ladies League Report
Ilkeston ladies beat the champions, West Bridgford in a very close match, to record their first win of the season. Sarah Wright and Julie Walker won 22 games which was matched by Sarah Usher and Jackie Thompson. Laura Cooper and Lisa Knowles also won 22 games for West Bridgford. Magdala and Woodthorpe battled for a draw, where Margot Kersh and Holly Mellors were the top couple with 24 games.
David Lloyd West Bridgford moved to the top of division 2, ahead of Mansfield, following a convincing away win at Caunton, where Rachael Allum and Jasmeet Kaler were the top couple with 31 games, backed up by Helen Phillips and Sue Heiden with 26 games.
Southwell lost their unbeaten record in division 3, when they lost away to Musters ‘A’, where the mother and daughter pairing of Lisa and Amy Harrold were the top couple with 24 games. The most resistance came from Kathy Hocking and Poppy O’Shea with 22 games.
Newark maintained their unbeaten run in division 4, with a good away win against Mansfield ‘A’, where Steph Smith and Jane Hendley were the top couple with 29 games. Paula Coleman and Sally Beeley provided the most resistance with 20 games.
Farnsfield ‘A’ moved into second place in division 5B, following a close away win against Caunton ‘A’, where Clare Walker and Shelagh Mitchell were the top couple with 23 games, backed up by Lesley Healy and Chloe Lovett, unbeaten with 21 games. Musters ‘B’ moved away from the bottom of the table with a close home win against Newark ‘A’, where Anna Bailey and Rachel Whitehead were the top couple with 25 games.
East Bridgford ‘A’ moved to the top of division 6B following an away win against Lady Bay ‘C’, where Jo Milner and Emma Butterworth were the top couple with 24 games. Grantham ‘A’ bounced back after losing their opening match, to beat Caunton ‘D’. Lorraine Walton and Angela Anderson were the top couple with 28 games, with Elaine Maplethorpe and Jackie Thomson contributing 27 games.
