Men’s Winter League Tennis
Magdala lost their unbeaten run in the men’s first division, when they went down at West Bridgford, who recorded their first win of the season. Ross Savage and Greg Hollin were the top couple with 24 games. Mapperley Park opened up a lead at the top of the division, thanks to a concession by David Lloyd West Bridgford.
West Bridgford ‘A’ maintained their unbeaten run, with a home win against Nottingham Castle to go clear at the top of division 2. Chris Piggott and Nigel Cartwright were the top couple with 27 games,
Woodthorpe ‘A’ moved into third place in division 3, behind Keyworth and Wollaton, following a home win against Magdala ‘A’. Gary Bearman and Jack Bramley were the top couple with 20 games, backed up by Simon Williams and David Wright with 19 games, which was matched by Steve Small and Neil Collishaw.
Musters ‘A’ consolidated their place at the top of division 4B, with a comprehensive home win against Sutton in Ashfield ‘A’. Richard Grain and James Guanatikle were the dominant couple with 34 games. East Bridgford maintained second place, despite surrendering an early lead against third placed Attenborough ‘A’, to come out of the match with a draw. Jon Mitchell and Dave Watkins were the top couple with 26 games for East Bridgford, with Rob Bridges and Kyle Pentelow winning 24 games for Attenborough.
Southwell extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a close fought away win against Grantham ‘A’, to move well clear at the top of division 5A. Mansfield ‘B’ won their first match of the season with a win against the bottom team Attenborough ‘B’.
