West Bridgford Stars Go For Gold

The Special Olympic Games will see over 2,700 athletes with a learning disability from all regions of Great Britain competing in 22 sports around the sporting venues in the City of Leicester.
The opening ceremony will take place at the Walker Stadium on Saturday 25th July. Leicestershire sporting stars Martin Johnson, Gary Lineker, Stephen Jelley, Paul Nixon and Alan Birchenall have all proudly taken on the role of Games Patrons.

Eight players who train at West Bridgford tennis club will be representing the East Midlands region in the tennis event.
