Men’s Summer League – 28 June
Musters men consolidated their position at the top of division 1, with a good home win against Mapperley Park, to remain unbeaten. A solid team performance headed by Rob Cree and Chris Vernon with 4.5 sets, backed up by Dave Percival and Andy Vernon with 4 sets saw them home. Mapperley Park then bounced back in their next match to crush a weak West Bridgford team, who are struggling this season. David Lloyd West Bridgford started their season with a home win against Magdala, where Kyle Collins and Will Rollo were the dominant couple with 6 sets, for the loss of 12 games.
Magdala ‘A’ started their division 2 season with a convincing home win against Nottingham Castle, where Alex Dickenson and Russell Blenkinsop were the top couple with 5 sets. Nottingham Castle improved in their next match, where they salvaged a draw against West Bridgford ‘A’, thanks to their first couple of Richard Smart and Kieran Crowther who won 6 sets.
Caunton ‘A’ made it three out of three wins, with a close fought win away win against Woodthorpe ‘B’, and Nottingham Castle ‘A’ move into second place in division 4A, following an easy win against Magdala ‘C’.
Retford just edge above Keyworth ‘A’ at the top of division 5A, following a good away win against Mansfield ‘A’, thanks to the maximum haul from John Gazeley and Tom Hannah and 5 sets from Chris Williams and Jacob Clarke
