Despite being one of a "handful of clubs" who suffered a "technical hitch" at the LTA and therefore did not receive a resource pack prior to the May GBTW events we managed to print and distribute 500 leaflets to homes in time to promote the event and to get some free advertising in the local press.
On the first day (Saturday 13th May) we opened at 9am and managed to blow up enough balloons and put up arrows to guide attendees to the courts with time to spare before the first families arrived at 11.15am (note for next time...don't start till at least 11 o'clock!). In all, 10 potential new members turned up between 11.15am and 2.30pm, supported by 3 committee members and 2 coaches.
On Sunday (14th May) we opened at 1pm and barely had time to blow up a balloon before the first people turned up and the afternoon had a steady stream of visitors (14 in total) supported by another 3 committee members and 1 coach before everything finished at 5pm.
Although the turnout was disappointing we have 24 potential new members aware of the great facilities at Wollaton and we have learned some lessons for future events...roll on GBTW July 2017 (complete with LTA resource pack)!
