The U14 Boys team travelled to Essex to play their County Cup this year.
All the boys and gave it their all finishing in 3rd place.
Nottinghamshire played Hertfordshire first.
The boy lost all singles and both doubles without winning a set, to a very strong team that went onto win the whole event.

Next up were a very strong Norfolk.
We really needed to get our first win, which our reserve player from the day before Ryths Byro Moore did with fighting spirit. This was just what we needed to kick start us off. The team never looked back after this, and suddenly the team started to get some momentum.
It was 2 all after the singles, and so it was all down to the doubles, which the boys won both in style, demonstrating fantastic composure, passion and desire. This meant that we had come second in group A

Nottinghamshire played Suffolk in their final match, and we’re playing for 3rd place. Every single one of our players came out firing on all cylinders, taking all 4 singles matches. Mission completed!
Daniel Wright injured his back early on in the doubles, yet battled on serving underarm for the whole match, which I thought was an amazingly brave effort considering the tie was already settled!

Overall, it was a great weekend, with every single player representing Nottinghamshire giving everything they had for their County, and they can all be very proud of their achievements and efforts over the 3 days of tennis.
It really did feel like we had won the whole event with the fantastic team spirit created by all involved.
Well done, and thanks again to all the players for their efforts.
