Ladies Winter League
The ladies first division is nicely poised for the two unbeaten teams to play off for the title. Magdala need to beat West Bridgford to win the title, but a draw will be good enough for West Bridgford to retain their title. Magdala crushed the already relegated Grantham team, with Gina Ofield and Beth Mallalue winning 34 games, and Margot Kersh with Mandy Mellors winning 32 games. West Bridgford in turn, comfortably beat Mansfield, with Hannah Murray and Joanne Fox winning 31 games, and backed up by Lesley Whitehead and Rachel Scott with 30 games.
Magdala ‘A’ remain unbeaten and move into second place in division 3, following a home win against Sutton in Ashfield. Collingham also remain unbeaten, following a close fought away win at Attenborough, despite 21 games from Attenborough’s Dawn Mumby and Lorraine Johnson.
Following an away win against East Bridgford ‘A’, Magdala ‘B’ have moved into second place in division 5B, behind The Park, who both have one match remaining. Farnsfield ‘A’ moved out of the relegation area with an away win against bottom of the table Sutton in Ashfield ‘A’. Lesley Healey and Shelagh Mitchell were the top couple with 28 games.
Woodthorpe ‘B’ crushed Farnsfield ‘B’ and league leaders West Bridgford ‘C’ in division 6A, to move into second place, and guarantee promotion.
In division 6B, Musters coped better with the weather conditions when they beat the league leaders Caunton ‘B’, to move into third place. Jane Bingham and Maggie Frake won 23 games, which was matched by Anna Bowley and Jo Palfrington.
