Notts County tennis player Isabelle Tyrrell, who already holds the Scottish Open title, added another national championship to her collection when she won the British Closed Veterans National Grass Court Championships at Wimbledon.
The prestigious tournament included former GB Davis Cup player Mark Cox, plus former Welsh international footballer Alan Durban.
Isabelle, a PE teacher at Dagfa House School in Beeston, partnered Rachael Apsey from Somerset to comfortably take the over 40s doubles title, adding this to the British Open Indoor doubles title she won earlier in the year.
Isabelle narrowly missed out on the singles title, losing to former Wimbledon player, and GB team-mate, Jo Louis 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
"It was a great match. She attacked well at crucial times and this proved the difference in the end," said Isabelle.
Isabelle, who has also represented England Masters at squash, now has to swap rackets and concentrate her attention on the British Open Masters Squash Championships which are in Manchester starting on Thursday, September 10.
"It can be quite difficult changing racket sports but I will give it my best shot," she said.
"I reached the semi-final when the event was held in Nottingham, so you never know what might happen."
