Ladies Summer League
West Bridgford had a comfortable away win against the division 1 league leaders Magdala. Elaine Masters and Isabelle Tyrrell won six sets which was matched by Laura Cooper and Margarita Fedoseveya. West Bridgford will become champions if they win their two remaining matches, while Magdala have one match remaining.
Mansfield have completed their season with a sixth consecutive win, away at David Lloyd West Bridgford, to take the division 2 title. Although David Lloyds Rachel Benning and Carol Drummond won six sets, it was the overall consistency of the Mansfield team that paid dividends, with all three couples winning 4 sets each. The second promotion spot will go to either Lady Bay or David Lloyd who both have one match remaining.
David Lloyd Nottingham maintained their unbeaten run in division 4B, with a home win against Woodthorpe ‘B’ who are still looking for their first win of the season. Wollaton are currently in second place.
Magdala ‘B’ moved into second place in division 5A, following a comfortable away win against Caunton ‘B’. Eve Kersh and Stephanie Meins won 6 sets for the loss of only 6 games. Ravenshead currently top the division having completed their matches, and Magdala have two matches remaining.
Men’s Short Format League
Eastwood continue as favourites to take the division 1 title in the Men’s Short Format League following their 8 – 4 victory over second placed Attenborough ‘A’.
In division 2, West Bridgford ‘A’ took the title following a convincing 10 – 2 win over Attenborough ‘B’. Sam Thompson and Chris Collier took all 4 sets for West Bridgford, but only after coming through a tie-break against Attenborough’s father and son pairing of Martin and Matt Sharples.
