Success for Amelia and Anna in The Sutton Tennis Academy Easter Grade 2
Success for Amelia Rajecki and Anna Buckley in winning the 16u Girls Doubles in The Sutton Tennis Academy Easter Grade 2 last week beating Annabel Davis and Jemma Lancaster 2-6 6-3 10-8, Beth Cooper and Grace Piper 6-3 6-1 and beating Danielle Hack and Freya Hampson Evans 7-5 6-4 in the finals. Amelia also reached the quarter finals of the Girls 16u singles beating Megan Davis of Wales 6-4 6-2 and Annabelle Davis of Somerset 6-2 6-2 before losing to the number 2 seed Arabella Moen of Hertfordshire 6-4 4-6 10-7.
Amelia and Anna also reached the semi finals of the 16u Girls Doubles in the recent Grade 2 Notts Junior Open supported by Porsche at Nottingham Tennis Centre beating Annabelle Davis and Emily Thomas 6-1 6-2 in the quarter finals before losing to Hannah Smith and Harriet Eyles 6-4 7-6 in the semi-finals. Amelia also reached the quarter finals of the 16u Girls singles beating the number 4 seed Grace Emma Eland of Cumbria 6-4 6-4, then beating Hannah Smith of Hampshire 7-5 5-7 10-8 before losing to the number 9 seed Arabella Moen 6-3 7-5.
Both Amelia and Anna have now moved out of the 14u age group (with Amelia finishing the season as number 1 in the County for 14u and currently ranked number 1 in the County for her new age group of 16u).
