Li Xiuwen, a student at Loughborough University won the 39th Jack Britton Tennis Trophy held at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Saturday 8th December. 23 year old Li, who is a post graduate studying Sports Management, won 4 matches against higher-rated opponents. He beat Isaac Morris from West Bridgford TC 10-6 in a 3rd set tie break, Robert Muncaster from Derby in straight sets and No1 seed Guillermo Mata from Leicester in 2 tie breaks sets. In the final set Li beat Christopher Prince from Rolls-Royce TC in Derby 2-4 4-0 10-6 in an exciting 4th match of the day using FAST4 rules.
Li takes home the Jack Britton Trophy, which first was held back in 1974.
