Firstly thanks to the players and parents for coming down to Corby in December, it can be a cold place but we warmed it with some fantastic team spirit and support shown by all. The team consisted of Mia Righton, Henna Quraishi, Tullulah Butterfield, Lorena Guidrite, Jasper Riley, Ben Phillips, Spike Morgan-Tansley and Isaac Dunstan.
The boys and girls competed really well throughout the day, with some of the players new to competition. The link to the Corby tables is below, the results aren't published yet but you'll be able to see them here when they are.

The resilient Ben Phillips came from a set and a break down in his first match to claim the win against Northampton; whilst Jasper Riley was his usual hard-hitting self to come through with 2 wins at the always difficult number 1 position; Spike Morgan-Tansley gained more confidence throughout the day coming to terms with a new attacking gamestyle; and Isaac Dunstan, playing at number 4, was a fantastic fighter all the way to the end picking up 2 wins and then narrowly going down to Buckinghamshire 13-11 in the third set tiebreak to a player ranked x2 ratings above him!
The girls had a slightly tougher day with Tullulah and Lorena are newer to competition, they had a great experience playing for the county, they will enter more competitions and come back stronger to face the players in the next age group! Mia had some competitive matches at number 1 but will work harder to come back and beat the girls next time! Henna, playing at number 2 spot for Nottinghamshire, manged to combine a win with Lorena's win saw the team gain a draw on the day and played some fantastic tennis having come from the David Lloyd national finals last weekend.
Nottinghamshire performed well throughout the day, showing a willingness to learn as they completed goal setting sheets before and after each match. One of our goals is for the players to self-reflect and have an understanding of how they can improve from match to match, we think we achieved that goal!
