Ladies Summer League
Mansfield ladies opened their division 1 account with a home win against Woodthorpe, thanks to a good team performance, with Nicola Coleman and Emilja Lazarevic the pick of the team with 5.5 sets. Magdala moved to the top of the table following a comfortable away win at Musters, where Jenny French and Frances Benson were the top couple with 6 sets.
Farnsfield beat the bottom team Woodthorpe ‘A’ in division 2, in a close fought match, but were then comprehensively beaten by Burton Joyce in their next match, where Lisa Ostrowsky-Weston and Ruth Rae won 6 sets for the loss of only 4 games, with Gill Lane and Lorraine Cockell also wining 6 sets.
David Lloyd Nottingham maintained their unbeaten run in division 3, with a comfortable home win against Nottingham Castle, to move ahead of Southwell at the top of the table. Lynsey Cover and Sarah Hutchinson were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 9 games.
Ravenshead had a close away win in division 4A against David Lloyd Nottingham ‘A’, but then lost their next match to league leaders Newark, who remain unbeaten. Jane Hendley and Sarah Smith were in top form, winning 6 sets for the loss of only 6 games. Lady Bay ‘A’ won two consecutive close matches against Musters ‘A’ and David Lloyd West Bridgford ‘A’ to move well clear at the top of division 4B.
