The boys 12u County Cup was held at Caunton Tennis Club over the weekend 29-30th June. The format for the event was 3 singles and 1 doubles (short sets to 4) with a Championship tie-break at 1 set all against 2 other Counties on the Saturday. The top 2 Counties would progress to a 1-4 place finish on the Sunday and the team coming 3rd would play for a 5-6 place finish on the Sunday.
On the Saturday the team of Indy Weir, Jasper Riley, Jack Stamp and James Evison-Varley played against arguably the strongest 2 Counties there, Kent and Cambridge and although the boys didn't manage to win a rubber they fought till the last point in 30 degree heat in each of the matches.

Cambridge 4 Nottinghamshire 0
On the Sunday the boys were joined by Hugo Dunn who had been attending school on the Saturday and they managed to put the disappointment of losing the day before behind them. Playing Northampton Hugo and Jack both managed to win their singles in a Championship Tie-break to put the team 2-1 up after the singles. Indy and Hugo would then team up to win the all important doubles.

Overall it was a great weekend with the boys showing some great fighting spirit and it must be said at a great venue where the hospitality and facilities were fantastic!
